OFFICIAL FD DAILY FANTASY BASKETBALL 2013-14 Season

Post#1 » by ddt » Mon Sep 16, 2013 4:53 am

There's a lot of season long fantasy threads popping up right now, so I thought I'd open up a daily league thread for anyone interested in joining.

Daily leagues are basically the full season experience of fantasy sports in one day. I have been playing this for a few years and it is pretty fun, especially for the people that get out of the running for the playoffs in their seson long leagues.

This is basically how it works (pretty straight forward):

1). Basically, NBA players are assigned their respective position and a monetary value (examples below). The more a player produces, the higher their value.
Examples: PG Chris Paul = $9,000, SG Kobe Bryant = $9,600, SF Lebron James = $9,900, PF LaMarcus Aldridge = $9,200, C Dwight Howard = $9,000

2). Next, a salary cap set.
Example: $60,000

3). Then, you have to fill nine roster spots with only players that have a game that day (2 x Point Guards, 2 x Shooting Guards, 2 x Small Forwards, 2 x Power Forwards, 1 x Center)
Example of a team:
PG Damian Lillard ($6,600)
PG George Hill ($5,000)
SG Kobe Bryant ($9,000)
SG Kevin Martin ($5,300)
SF Lebron James ($9,900)
SF Andre Iguodala ($6,000)
PF Carl Landry ($4,400)
PF Kevin Garnett ($7,200)
C Andre Drummond ($4,800)
My grand total is $58,200, which is perfect because I stay within the $60,000 salary cap, and I have $1,800 to spare.

4). Finally, you play your team against teams assembled by other people via public or private games (vs. realgm members). The winner of the league is the individual that scores the most fantasy points and the winner can be awarded money or just bragging rights.

Let's keep this going: fanduel.com

Most of NBA training camp has started and the season is right around the corner. Setup your username now so that we can get daily leagues going from the get go.

I understand this is a fairly new to a lot of people, but give it a shot along with your full season leagues. It's a different twist to fantasy sports, but just as fun.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

You mention $1,800 to spare as if that's a good thing. What can you do with that?

The above was really for illustration purposes. But to answer your question, you can use the 1800 to upgrade a position if needed. However be aware that using all your salary doesn't necessarily mean you created the best possible team that particular night.

Here's my Sunday 12/1/13 lineup for games with a 60K salary cap that start at 1:00PM EST (10:00 AM PST)

PG - Damian Lillard - $8,100
PG - Kyle Lowry - $7,300
SG - Jamal Crawford - $5,000
SG - Rodney Stuckey - $6,000
SF - Josh Smith - $7,800
SF - Harrison Barnes - $5,600
PF - Kevin Love - $11,200
PF - Tyler Hansbrough - $3,700
C - Robin Lopez - $5,200

Left over cash = $100

Comments:

Jamal Crawford - Clippers dealing with injuries (reddick), CP3 may be out today, so somebody has to score for them.

Tyler Hansbrough - Reports have been pointing that Psycho T may start. When given minutes Psycho T performs. At $3,700 this is a very very great pick.

Robin Lopez - At $5,200 vs a weak LAL interior defense, this is a very good pick at this price.

Here's my Saturday 12/7/13 lineup for games with a 60K salary cap that start at 4:00PM EST (7:00 PM PST)

PG - Tony Wroten - $5,400
PG - Chris Paul - $10,000
SG - Kevin Martin - $7,500
SG - Randy Foye - $4,500
SF - Evan Turner - $8,000
SF - Josh Smith - $7,900
PF - Dante Cunningham - $3,600
PF - David Lee - $7,600
C - Andrew Bynum - $5,400

Left over cash = $100

Comments:

Dante Cunningham - Kevin Love is out of the game tonight, when given minutes Dante performs. This is the possible sleeper pick of the night and very cheap @3,600

Tony Wroten - MCW out tonight. Wroten produces just as much, but at a very cheap price.

Andrew Bynum - Is on the up trend, got to make this play before he gets too expensive.

For anyone that is out of the playoffs in their leagues, give daily leagues a try @
fanduel.com

If we get enough people we can play daily leagues versus each other. Hit me up via message for details.
