DeMarre or others worth picking up?

Post#1 » by mudyez » Thu Feb 6, 2014 4:10 pm

here is my team (9cat/h2h):

PG Knight
SG Hayward
G Bledsoe

SF Butler
PF Love
F Leonard

C Davis
C Sanders

Rondo
Westbrook
Thompson
Harris
Drummond

(originally drafted Rose and Horford...bad luck  )

Here is my question:
DeMarre Carroll, George Hill, J.R. Smith, Gerald Henderson and Danny Green are on the FA list.

I'm tempted to pick up Carroll and drop Harris, but I dont want to skrew this up.

What are your thoughts?

I feel you, I originally drafted Horford, Ryan Anderson, and Westbrook so I know all about injuries haha.

But about your question, of any of those guys, I suggest adding Carroll. He's doing a little bit of everything and he's playing great, and Harris is so limited by Oladipo, Nelson, Vucevic and Davis. Hill doesn't do a whole lot, about 10-3-3 a game, Smith is an inconsistent scorer, Henderson is a one-dimensional scorer most the time, and Danny Green isn't even producing too well even without Manu or Kawhi playing. I say absolutely go with Carroll.

Yeah, Rose, Horford, McGee (which I drafted too), Bledsoe, Davis, Westbrook, Leonard and Rondo are adding up for a lot of injury time. Once I hat 6 injured players on my team (not counting McGee, Rose and Horford which where already cut). But thats just what can happen.

So I'll go with Carroll but will wait until tomorrow to get Harris' 2/7 game (if Carroll is gone by then so be it).

Thanks!

Out of those players? Carroll is the best choice in my opinion.

Carroll is a must-grab imo. He's been a rich man's Kawhi since the Horford injury. A top 20 play in 9-cat. He should be owned in 100% of leagues. I'd drop Tobias too although Knight also isn't a bad choice.

So maybe even dropping Knight and Harris for Carroll and Middleton?

It is worth noting that Atlanta has one of the best fantasy playoff schedules. If hes available grab him Asap

I'd grab Carroll as well. Produces in almost all categories

I'd advise you to stay away from Middleton. From the looks of things, it doesn't really look like you have any trash players you can drop in the meantime to get Middleton, and I feel like Middleton is kind of just on a hot streak. I don't think he'll continue playing like this the rest the season. I think when you consider that Ilyasova and Mayo have both missed a few games due to injuries and illnesses, there left a void of shot attempts that Middleton stepped in to fill. Even upon Mayo and Ilyasova's returns, I feel Middleton will be a starter, but won't receive nearly as many minutes or get as many opportunities. Not to mention he's a pretty one-dimensional player. He has just been scoring, and getting 4 rebounds and 3 assists to go along with almost 3 turnovers. I say pass on Middleton.

Dropped Carroll for Kaman (his game today may help me hold of #3 and #4 in the standings to protect the bye week)...Maybe I'll pick up Middleton, Harris or Carroll again over the next few days...not sure which one of them?

What would be your choice?
