Should I Drop Dwight Howard?

Post#1 » by andrewww » Mon Mar 2, 2015 7:16 am

8 team league in yahoo
Standard 9-cat h2h format
Payout top 2

My team is in 2nd place after this week with the top 6 teams making it into the playoffs. I have a potential first round bye depending on how things unfold over the next 2 weeks.

Lineup is
1 PG
1 SG
1 G
1 SF
1 PF
1 F
2 C
3 UTIL
3 BENCH

My Team:
Goran Dragic
James Harden
Ricky Rubio
Kevin Martin
LaMarcus Aldridge
Wesley Matthews
DeAndre Jordan
Dwight Howard
Hassan Whiteside
Terrence Jones
Michael Carter-Williams
Alex Len
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Danilo Gallinari

Players available as of now in my waiver wire worth picking up:
Danny Green
Isiah Canaan
*DJ Augustin (looks like Westbrook will be out only for 1 or 2 games)

Thoughts? I am holding out hope that Howard will be available in 3 weeks because he shores up the categores I am loading up on (FG%, PTS, REB, BLK) with a lot of my bigs, and since I'm almost essentially punting FT% with Jordan on the team, Howard's FT% won't hurt me much since its a h2h format. But the more I read yahoo's assessment of the Howard situation, it looks unlikely that he'll be ready in 3 weeks but who knows.

You seem pretty set already with big men. Even without Dwight you'd still be strong in the areas that he's strongest at.
