Hypothetic amnesty question

Post#1 » by Hedda Gambler » Tue Jul 16, 2013 5:38 pm

If a player who earns for example five million a year gets amnestied, and one team bids 6 million for him. Who gets the last million, the player or the team that amnestied him?

Sham and I split it up equally between the two of us.

Serious answer is that on any amnesty waiver claim, the max bid is a full waiver claim (ie, the contract amount). If any bids are full waiver claims, the player would get awarded the same way as a regular waiver (in which all claims must be full waiver claims).

DBoys, you may not think my answer was serious, but I must note that I got my first "And 1" point for it. Probably from Sham.

Dunk, if you got an And 1, then it's only semi-serious. If you got half of an extra million, THEN it has to count as "serious"!!

I'm waiting for the right reason to hang out - say, for example, my own half a mill.

DBoys, if you give me an And 1, I might talk Sham into sharing the million with you in a three-way split.

What is an And 1 anyway? Some promotional gimmick that RealGM uses to get money from the shoe company? Is it better or worse than a People's Choice Award?

So the value of an "And 1" is a third of a mill? Dang, who knew?

About the same. Both are given away all Willie-nillie.
