Reported $63M offer to Bledsoe from Timberwolves

Post#1 » by d-train » Sun Sep 21, 2014 12:48 am

Unless I'm missing some transactions, the Timberwolves are over the cap with $69.8M owed to 15 players. How can they make a $63M offer to Bledsoe?

LOL they can't. Talk is cheap, isn't it? It's easy to make a "max" offer when there's no possibility you'd have to pay it. Or maybe this "offer" is just a case of an agent whispering sweet PR-purposed nothings (as in, nothing factual) to his favorite media outlet.

The article says as well that they can't:

The Wolves are offering Bledsoe the four-year, $63 million maximum level contract that he has been seeking, sources said, but because of cap restrictions, the only way he can join the team as currently constructed is through a sign-and-trade deal.
