Stretching Jose Calderon
If the Knicks stretched Jose Calderon's salary for 2015-16 and 2016-17... my understanding is you pay dollar for dollar the same money, just spread across double the length of the contract plus one year, is this correct? It should result in the Knicks owing $3,022,248 for the next five seasons if it is?
Disclaimer: Trades I post shouldn't make you stressed or angry if you disagree. If you say it's unproductive because it won't happen and we're only allowed to post deals that actually happen, it takes away 99% of trades here and the fun out of the board.

Assuming Calderon did not take anything less than what he is owed in a buyout, and they chose to use the Stretch Provision, that is correct. One clarifying point, it is double the amount of years left on the contract plus one year. Not the original contract. I've seen that confused other places before.
