is there any chance sixers can aquire luther head(and his very small salary) without sending back a player? we are now over the cap space and we don't have any exception.a rockets fan told me that they would give us luther head for a second pick but they would not take reggie evans or willie green

If you still had the cap space to absorb the contract you can send anything as long as it is something. You can back the rights to some 2nd round pick you took in the 90's that never made it to the league if you wanted.

ITK9, thought I'd add to this. There's also speculation that Houston is moving Novak whose salary is at/near the minimum. With Iguodala's cap hold, Philly is over the cap. Is there any way that Philly can take back his minimum salary without taking a player back?
