max contract - player option ???

Post#1 » by roc » Thu Feb 19, 2009 10:58 pm

If a team signs a player that has been in the league for under 6 years to a max contract what is the first year that player can have a player option in his contract?

You could have a 2 year max contract where the second year is a player option if you wanted to.

If you are talking about a 6 year max contract then you can have an early termination option after the 4th season.

I'm am thinking about a restricted FA that is signed to an offer sheet for 5 years by another team that is not their own.

I am playing in the GM a team game and another team offered Bynum and Granger max deals with a Player Option in the 3rd year. Seems a bit sketchy to me so I wanted some clarification from peeps that actually know what they are talking about since noone in the game seems to have a clue.
