I had to do a system recovery thanks to problems caused by Avast. I took my PC to a technician and he told me Avast isn't a very good AV and advised me to use Microsoft security essentials instead.

Avast boot-time scan, Malwarebytes full scan, Hitman Pro scan, and TDSSKiller scan all came up clean for me. Don't know how it affected people not running some type of anti-virus program though.

MSE is a good, light program that obviously knows the inner workings of Windows better than any of the other anti-virus programs. So you will be less likely to have problems or false positives. However, it's detection rates are worse than a lot of the other popular AV programs.

I'm fully aware Avast has the higher detection rate. But I'd rather just complement MSE with good spyware programs than deal with some of the false detections by Avast.

The last straw for me with Avast is when it detected a rootkit from Malwarebytes on my other PC. Just my opinion but I think Avast 6 was much better than Avast 7.

Is problem going to be fixed or not? I haven't been able to access Real GM on anything except my iPhone since this whole thing started.

If my laptop is broken tomorrow (I leave for a business trip on Saturday), I expect Real GM to provide me with a brand new laptop. :D

I just tried going back on with my work computer and I got redirected to a site that started with "gjetefa." I closed it before I could see the rest of the address.

Good so far today.

During the issue, all I would get were the annoying notifications. I have adblock on, so Im guessing that is why I never got redirected anywhere during the time.

To clear up any confusion.. nobody has a screwed up computer because of RealGM. A virus was not being spread around. An iframe was injected that was leading to a page serving up tons of advertisements. The sole purpose was to increase impressions and false clicks for a monetary gain. It was not harmful to users except for being annoying and causing redirects.

Our team worked around the clock tirelessly to resolve the problem. I am still monitoring everything to make sure we are 1000% in the clear, but you can definitely browse these forums safely.

I just tried going on at work and I got re-directed again. RealGM is great and I've been posting here for nearly a decade, but this is getting ridiculous now. I can't continue to go on this site if it's not safe.

Still redirecting me 4 out of 5 times I try to open the web page. It is frustrating as I love this site. This has only been happening the last 5 days or so.
