@howard mass i don't know anything about you but i love this website and how it is ran around here as far as nfl, off-topic & other sports...
i've been here for a couple of weeks now and one thing i don't get is the new user waiting period to post on the general nba forum. i read what you said "New User Waiting Period Restriction (Read-Only Access) Extended from 30 to 100 Days" but you never said why we have to wait that long and i was wondering why? i joined in january so i wasn't really aware of why. waiting this long is killing me, especially since the miami heat board i post on everyday has no mods doing anything what so ever. it's become more about attacking other members then talking about the topic at hand over there in the heat board. i really wish i would've joined sooner before the 100 days waiting period, 30 days was cool to me. i love the miami heat with a passion but i'm also a fan of the game of basketball so i love to talk about what's going on around the nba and i love to share my opinions but just posting on the heat board is not doing it because when i do say something ex: melo vs lebron would be a wash in the playoffs i get bashed and have members copying my quote into their sig just because i stated my opinion (right or wrong). when i post on other teams boards it just feels so awkward...

It helps keep spam accounts, banned users from returning quickly and so forth from flooding the General Board. Basically, problem posters have made it a necessity.
100 days will go by pretty fast. In the mean time, you can post on the Trade Board, the PC Board, the Draft Board... there are any number of ways to get directly involved in conversations.

^ ok that answers it somewhat. and yea waiting to the playoffs to post on the gb won't be long at all
and i hate college basketball and the draft. but my other question still hasn't been answered. are y'all going to do anything about the heat board? like hire a new mod or something? it's more about calling out other members and attacking other users rather than talking about miami heat related topics...

That's really up to the incumbent moderators, if they feel they need the assistance. We can help if they want, but we aren't going to make arbitrary decisions on their behalf. If you have concerns and/or suggestions, by all means I encourage you to contact the Miami mods and have a chat with them.

Heat mods are somewhat active but they aren't as stingy about things as other boards which is great. Of course if someone came and started talking rudely about the team for instance those threads get closed pretty quick. Mods might not post but I'm pretty sure most still do things, just behind the scenes.
