"And 1" Feature Upgrades

RealGM Users,

We have made some upgrades to our "And 1" Feature.

Here are they

- The page no longer refreshes when likes are cast.  Instead, they are saved in the background and instantly updated.

- If you click on the button a second time, it will remove your like.  So you can toggle like/dislike by clicking it.

- If you click on the number of likes, when it is above 0, the full list of people who clicked And 1 will be displayed

- The button has been moved to the top along with the other icons like report, quote, etc.

- The design has been updated to fit in better with the rest of the icons.

- For users who do not like the And 1 button, they can completely disable it.  If you go to the User Control Panel, click on the Board Preferences tab, and click on Edit Display Options you will see an option to Display And 1 or not.

- We might do something more with The “And 1” feature in the future but we have lots more to do to make the RealGM experience for all of you before we do anything here.

CTRL plus R

and CTRL plus F5

You have to clear your browser cache... same menu where you delete cookies/browser history. Browsers "remember" images so they load faster and you have to make it forget the image.

Great upgrade! However, I don't seem to see the And 1 button on any posts outside of this forum (Feedback & Suggestions).

I guess my question is what are we trying to accomplish with the And 1? I use it when I see someone make something creative, original to contribute, or that I agree with their statement. But without most using it, I dont think its feasible to use it in any way to reward people.

It's basically a Like system at the moment where you can show your support and agreement with a post.

A running total of how many likes someone has received needs to be shown in order to give this more meaning. Like a post count, but for likes received.

yeah the only way people will start using and 1 is when there is a meter to see how much each poster has received.

Posting here because I didn't want to start a whole new thread.

I love the addition of the And1s on the side of the page, BUT is it possible to move it under joined and location? It's getting really confusing (I know it sounds stupid) cause I keep thinking everyone's post count is their post count. I know it's not a big deal, but I think aesthetically it would be much better.

We are going to leave it where it is for now. I think it's just a learning phase right now of getting used to the new addition. It will be second nature soon. I think it logically makes sense to be grouped with the post count.
