"Hot Topics" window on Main Page?

Just an idea.

The forums on RealGM are a great part of the website because it's like a community, so as a way to invite more people to join we should have a little window on the main page that showcases "hot topics" in the forum section.

Maybe have a little window that says "hot topics", then post the top 3-5 most active threads that are currently being used.

Having a window like that gives the look of an active community and would give the front page an inviting and welcoming vibe to it as if there's a fun community to the site to go along with the up to date sports news.

So maybe there's the front headliner like there normally is, then the wiretap, then maybe below the wiretap there's a smaller window (height wise) with the "trending threads" or whatever. But since casual website visitors may not know what a thread is, we can name it "trending topics" or "trending discussions". The word 'discussions' seems friendly and welcoming without making it seem like RealGM is a place full of arguments or whatever.

Or maybe label it "Fan Discussions", or something that incorporates the word "fan" or something similar. That way casual visitors will know it's fans that are talking and not actual RealGM writers or whatever. So the front page still looks professional but at the same time showcases that there is an active community in the forum section.
