How does one delete their account?

Post#1 » by Invictus88 » Sun Oct 19, 2014 1:52 am

I no longer wish to be registered within RealGM.

However, I don't see a way to do this from my account settings?

Is there something that I am missing somewhere?

Thanks,

if you don't desire to post anymore, you can simply stop posting. The account will be there in case you change your mind, and won't be used if you do not.

I appreciate the reply but I would prefer it if my account was removed.

If I decide to ever post again I can always re register.

How can this be achieved?

Invictus88,

My advice would be to log out and remember the E-Mail you used to sign up.

I could always change your username if you decide to return.

I cannot delete an account with a few hundred posts like yours.

That's really unfortunate.

The reason for account removal is to get rid of personal information since I'm not planning on using the service any longer. I know it is a little bit anal-retentive but in this day in age with all the crazy online security breaches I just like to keep as little an internet footprint as possible.

I would have thought that the functionality of removing an individual account would have been a fairly standard feature in a system such as this.

I don't really care about the posts being removed, etc as much as the personal info.

At any rate it sounds like it's not a trivial action. Thanks for replying Howard Mass,

If there is personal information, just PM me and let me know what it is and I'll see if I can remove it.
