Latency

Post#1 » by Johnny Firpo » Sun Nov 30, 2014 10:21 am

Hey guys, I noticed some horrible latency on the site in the last couple days, especially when I log in, but also when posting or quoting (so posting I guess). Do you have server issues? Anyway, appreciate the hard work, I'm going with ad-block off from now on and will continue to do so until I see pop-up ads, which I hope isn't among your plans. Thanks again!

Am I the only one who experienced this? I doubt it.

No, the forums have been damnably slow for a while.

Thanks for the reply tsherkin, any news on the "why"? Or maybe I missed a thread about this?

Hopefully this isn't an issue after we upgrade everything in the next couple weeks.

I always like the words "upgrade everything"

These forums have been extremely slow for several days now. This does appear to be an issue for a lot of people. You guys do a great job fixing it though.

Suggestion to Mods/Global Mods:

If it helps with user experience, maybe just disable some features? Signatures for example. And/Or posting gifs/images.

Just a thought...because the board has been like wading through treacle the last few days.

Thanks for the upcoming upgrades

Semi related to the upgrades you're referring to, but will tweets and YouTube videos soon be visible from the mobile app? Or rather is the site upgrade only referring to the desktop version

Were working on some things.

We do disable signatures and avatars on Draft Night but when things slow down, we usually find a fix.

Again, we are working on things so please stay tuned.
