The Quibids penny auction is a ripoff and realgm only hurts itself by associating with such a scam. Here's why they charge 60 cents per every cent of bidding and you can only bid about 1 cent at a time. Actual items like a brand new mac pro being sold for $22.40 doesn't include the actual cost of bidding which would rack the item more than it actually costs. Any search engine confirms it is a scam. RealGm should promptly disassociate if whenever possible.

These audio ads are killing me. I would greatly appreciate their immediate removal.

Thank you.

It may be a good idea to take down ads that are pretty much child pornography? no?

There are video ads just to the right of the wiretap headlines. The volume on them is extremely high and it is louder than the music I listen to on my computer. There needs to be a way to mute these ads or at the very least the sound level needs to be reduced. When the ads start playing I have to exit the site to get rid of the noise. I have never had a problem with other advertising on this site, but these ads are a nuisance.

what's up with video ads? Its not fair for those of us trying to support realgm by not using Ad block to be subjected to annoying audio ads

Here to agree with the previous posters regarding the audio/full-screen video ads. I'm a long-time lurker, rare poster and have been visiting the site a few times a day since about 2005. However, if I encounter more of these ads I'm going to find another site for basketball news/discussion.

Thanks.

Stop with the audio ads please. They're extremely annoying and frankly amateurish.

This.

It's pathetic to that a professional website runs ads with sound in 2011.

I think the ads all together need to stop. There's a ton of room for exploiting the site and someone's computer through them. At least, have more ads like DeVry where you know it's a reputable company and such or Oscar Mayer. These terrible Google Ads are plain awful and take away from the experience. I'd be willing to pay $1.00 or $2.00 every year to keep this place ad-free.

We have a policy against ads that play sound. Any ad that plays sound must be initiated by the user by clicking on the ad.

I've removed the Oscar Mayer campaign and will make sure ads like this don't appear again in the future.

I am not clicking on any ads, I keep getting loud audio ads, every time I click on a new forum or topic.

That damn "Resolve Deep Clean Powder" ad keeps blasting sound, as soon as I open a new page.

I am not clicking on anything to make it play, it auto-plays on it's own.

I saw this ad as well today and have been attempting to find how it is appearing in order to eliminate it. I'll confirm once it has been resolved.

We apologize for the nuisance and appreciate your patience.

I'm getting an audio ad now that auto-plays for marketnews.com.

It's a 2 part ad, the first part was a clearasil video that does not play sound, and once that video finishes, it goes to an ad with sound for marketnews.com.

This doesn't qualify as an advertising questions, but I don't know where to post this.

You guys ever think of letting basketball companies sell products on your site?

Maybe even sell your own merchandise, like Realgm shirts, and stuff?

Providing some kind of benefit to posters that give referrals?

Having Mods make threads that become tradition, like keys to the game, and having a special feature in those threads, like being able to see and here the mods on video,?

Having a basketball tournament?

I got a suggestion, this time about advertising.

You guys should have an advertising thread on each team page. That way you don't annoy anyone with pop ups...maybe a lot of posters will check it out.

Oh my, these intrusive Axe ads need to go. I do understand that the site has to make money, but must they be at the enjoyment of the site.

I agree, these are horrible. I'm getting complaints from several and that's the first time I've ever been PM'd about ads.

Absolutely intrusive and you can't get rid of it. Personally ads like this would make me not come back.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
