Erie Bayhawks top pick looking to keep his cool

Post#1 » by jman3134 » Sat Nov 6, 2010 7:38 pm

With an NBA body at 6 feet 8 inches and 230 pounds, Ivan Johnson is planning to bring a winning attitude to Erie.

"I'm coming there to try to win a championship," Johnson said. "That's the way it is for any team I play for."

He has a ton of confidence, too.

"I know I've got the skills to make it to the NBA," Johnson said.

Johnson, 26, has also shown an attitude toward referees that NBA teams typically frown upon.

So the BayHawks' first-round pick is hoping to not only show he's good enough to play in the NBA, but that he also can keep his cool when the whistle blows against him.

"That's my whole plan going into the D-League," Johnson said. "To show everybody that I can play and hold my emotions."

For his sake I hope that he does keep his cool. If the Korean league is not going to tolerate his antics, I doubt the NBA or an NBA affiliated league will put up with obscene gestures etc.

Best of luck to him and Erie though.
