Re: Minor League fantasy draft(Pittsburgh Peacocks on the clock)

Post#2 » by Klomp » Mon Nov 22, 2010 6:42 am

With the 1st selection in the 2010 RGM Minor League Fantasy Draft, the Pittsburgh Peacocks select:

MATT JANNING, G (6'5", 196 LBS)
(If ineligible, please let me know.)

Image

When the Phoenix Suns waived Janning on November 16, he instantly became one of the targets of the Peacocks' front office. "He's a small-town Minnesota boy, much like myself," say Peacock's GM Klomp. "We feel that his skillset is perfect for how we want to build this team."

"We all realize that Matt might not be the sexy pick of the draft," says Klomp, "but wins aren't earned on the court by sexiness. You get wins by putting the ball in the basket, and thats what Matt can provide with this team."

Re: Minor League fantasy draft(Baltimore Megalodon on the clock)

Post#3 » by mid-post » Mon Nov 22, 2010 6:28 pm

The Megalodon select Rashad McCants 6-4 shooting guard out of North Carolina.

Image

Rashad has plenty of game and he's still in his physical prime.
The problem is that he's developed a reputation as a malcontent, which has kept him out of the league. Plenty of people disagree with that assessment, but the Megalodon have taken the step of hiring Dr. Phil and Ricky Williams as emotional consultants for this team in case things get a little bumpy.
Anyway, with the amount of depth this squad will have, any detrimental acting up and he will be shipped out faster than FedEx overnight delivery.

 nice pic

I propose we pick 2, maybe 3 players at a time. I'm not really worried at all about anybody picking my guys.

Agreed. This will take too long otherwise. Or maybe we could PM jman our draft board and he could quick put together the draft.

I was thinking we could order the first 5 or 6 and then maybe go to a free-for-all. I do feel that we may be picking some of the same people early on. It's really up to you all though.

With the 3rd selection in the 2010 RGM Minor League Fantasy Draft, the Atlanta Ancient Stars select:
Sammy MEJIA

Image

The leading scorer in the Euroleague is averaging 15.8, 5.8 rebs, and 2.8 asts. The Euroleague's Lebron.

http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?pcode=001946

A flat out scorer, can shoot, can penetrate, and defend. He's a flat stud and this is like drafting Michael Jordan with the 3rd overall pick. He sloot footed on defense and is not the most athletic player in the sport.

all i know is i didn't have janning or mccants anywhere on my wish list (though mccants did cross my mind)

my guys I like are mostly guys i just like for my team style, but I could easily replace any of them. The world is my oyster.

I understand. But, former NBA players and Euroleague stars may be obvious selections, so other people may be competing for them.

I was thinking that we should not continue on this format for too long. But, for the sake of getting some of the top names out there, I think 5 rounds would provide ample opportunity. I know you are excited to get your picks out in the open. (and I am excited to hear them) The wait should not be all too much longer.

KC Grillers are going to go with Nick Fazekas 6-11 230 currently with the Reno Bighorns. Sorry about the delay.

Enhanced Write-up

Image

Nick Fazekas enjoyed a sterling college career at Nevada including 2nd Team All-America, but was considered a skilled tweener (too soft to play as a true big and too slow to play SF) and fell to the 2nd round of the 2007 NBA draft (#34 to Dallas). Played in 26 NBA games his rookie year and another 28 d-league games. So far with Reno he's averaging a double-double in 29 minutes a game and shooting a very respectable 64% from the field. Before coming back to the D-League he had spent time in the French league. Bigs often take longer to develop and I'm banking on the 25 year old hitting his stride with us.

With the 8th overall pick in the Minor League Draft the Atlantic City 3 Outer's select...

Image
Enes Kanter

One of the top young centers in Europe and possibly the world, after being denied by the NCAA like Charles Barkley at a Chinese buffet and not wanting to sign a long term deal with a European club, we acted with snap call like quickness to sign him so he can simultaneously lead us to the promise land and showcase his abilities for next year's draft on American soil.

In a somewhat ironic twist of fate, we were informed that Enes Kanter is draft ineligible here as well, therefore we will opt to go with our second round pick as our 1st round selection.

Without further ado, with the 8th pick in the draft the Atlantic City 3 Outer's select...

Image
Scottie Reynolds

We still think it's a crime Scottie isn't playing in the NBA and it's almost literally unbelievable that he went completely undrafted this past June.

Big time scorer who improved his point guard skills each year and became a leader, we're happy to introduce him as the man that will be running the show.

my pick was Courney Sims, or do I get to pick again? My next pick is Marcus Williams...the Arizona SF Marcus Williams, not the fat PG UCONN one, fit that pick in there whenever appropriate.

1. Courtney Sims
2. Marcus Williams the SF one
