I thought okc was chasing him to try to help replace kmart production off the bench alongside jeremy lamb. Clearly Presti gave him a low ball offer close to the veterans minimum so the thunder could have a payroll below the luxary tax line. If the thunder ownership keeps acting cheap and try to operate under the tax line, they will hit a very low ceiling. A ceiling that won't lead to a championship and eventually see Durant depart in 2016.

Actually he got the same offer but chose Portland.

He'd rather be on the rotation than sit on the bench

Or perhaps he liked what Portland had to offer. Apparently he like Stotts and Olshey quite a bit.

Well if you were fairly young in the league and had an offer to go to a contender and sit in street clothes all season, or go on a team pushing for the playoffs that will allow him a moderate usage rate. He already has a ring from the '06 Heat team, so he doesn't need to go ring chasing. For the same asking price, I'd rather play than not. So I like his choice.

Good fit for both Wright and the Blazers.

He is arguably in his prime so he should be logging 20-25 minutes a game instead of warming the bench. That will come later in his career for a contender, I'm sure though.
