Kyrie Irving Has 'No Intention' Of Leaving Cavaliers

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jul 23, 2013 3:37 pm

Despite speculation about his long-term future with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kyrie Irving made it clear on Monday that he supports the team's moves this offseason and is excited to be part of the organization.

"I’m a Cavalier right now, I’m happy to be a Cavalier,'' Irving said after the first USA Basketball practice at UNLV's Mendenhall Center on Monday afternoon.

Someone had posted on Twitter that Irving was not "long for Cleveland."

"I kind of had a sarcastic approach to it from what he said because it was a rumor starter,'' Irving said. "I don’t think he knows anybody in my camp, and I don’t know who the guy is. That type of stuff I don’t pay any attention to. Right now I’m a Cleveland Cavalier and I’m happy to be here.''

As if he had any intention of leaving right now, Irving said, "No, no intention.''

How is that trolling? Everyone is entitled to their opinion no matter how dumb or stupid you think it is--- The Heat will have cap space in the summer of 2014 to sign a player to an almost max-level deal

That's only if they renounce the rights to their players (which they'll never do).

It sounds like Rotary was just joking but if taken seriously it's pretty stupid.

It was indeed a joke guys. However, you can't really dismiss the Heat next off-season. I can see another star joining Miami next year.

The Heat would rather have a "true" PG than a scorer like Irving/Rose/Westbrook.

For now. Give him a few more seasons.

Don't see why people ask these questions to players especially when they are still under contract with that said team.

He's not going to say "I'm leaving cleveland". He'll say whatever makes him look good.

Ask him the same question when he's an UFA.

Jokes on the internet are tough to read sometimes, my bad.

But yeah I don't understand why people jump to the conclusion that the Heat can't add anyone just because LeBron, Wade and Bosh can opt out. People forgot that if they do ... CAP SPACE!!!!!!!!

I see either the Big 3 there stays intact, or LeBron leaves and is replaced with someone high-profile. My money is one the former, though.

No one sticks around Cleveland for the long haul. He'll be gone sooner or later.

Yeah, but if he doesn't want to be there than why keep him and lose him for nothing-- Like LeBron all over again.. At least work out a sign a trade, doesn't have to be with the Heat but if you think Irving is staying in Cleveland his whole career I want your doctors number

When "keep him and lose him for nothing" are two events 3 or 4 years apart, I pick "keep him and lose him for nothing."

This is RFA. Kyrie Irving is an All-Star. It's not confusing.

And if it's LeBron all over again, good. Perennial championship contender to bottom dweller to perennial championship contender sounds like fun to me. Go ask a Bucks fan what I'm talking about.

this post may be equally bad... do you know how contracts work? the Cavs have an option with Irving in 14-15.
