hmm.

Ok. They arent playing around. Nice young, athletic roster they got going.
Peja, Iverson, CP3, T-Mac, Starks, Artest. Will never get over how the 01-02 Kings got cheated by the refs.

Jennings, ?, Smith, Drummond, Monroe

Nice lineup they have going, but the development of Drummond and Jennnings + the maturity of Smith's decision making will be key for them to have any chance of getting past the first round.

Monta Ellis' 3-year $25M contract with Dallas is looking like a huge bargain right now.

Chauncey Billups or Rodney Stuckey at SG? Billups was a starter for the Clippers beside Chris Paul.

The rookie KCP could be the starter at SG

i guess dumars didnt learn from his mistake with villanueva.

giving up anything for that chucker jennings is crazy.
Somewhat relatedly, a criticism I would make of Stotts is that he's gotten away from the 3point attempt too much. - Epicurus

Could be one of them or KCP, or they could make another signing/trade.

So....what's the ceiling for this team? The way I see it, they're capped out for the next few years and they'll have to pony up for Munroe and eventually Drummond, and i still don't see them better than 6th in the East. Heat, Pacers, Bulls, Nets, Knicks...Depending on Bynum's health, even Cleveland looks like they could be the 6th best team. This Pistons team reminds me of the Hawks a few years back with Horford/Johnson and ironically Josh Smith. A Playoff team that will never contend. Joe Dumars is trying to save his job, I think.

I tend to agree with you, especially on a vastly improved Pistons team. Jennings is the epitome of a "Me First-SHoot Later" combo guard, but maybe he is young enough to change?

100% correct on all your observations. $8 million a year for 3 years? Hopefully, there is a team option in year 3. This is quite a bit of change for a guy who didn't receive any interest as a RFA, to boot.

this is good for brandon knight, he kinda got buried in Detroit with all the guards they had, it looks like the pistons are trying to put together a core with Jennings, Drummand and Monroe, it could work out but they will have to pay big to keep drummand and monroe

Jenning's RAPM was down right terrible and his winshare wasn't very inspiring either. granted, he's still better than Brandon Knight.

He can space the floor at least, which they need. they aren't going to start Drummond right away , the spacing is bad there. guessing they'll still start Singler due to his low USG .

So it's probably Jennings / Billups / Singler / Smith / Monroe to start, but with pretty decent depth on the bench.... yeah... probably playoff first round exit.

The Bucks... maybe they can get away with Knight as the PG I guess, and Jennings is overrated so there's merit in this move. they're a step behind Detroit, but probably not by as much as people assume. their front court is actually excellent

Love the move for MIL.. Knight might wind up being a 6th man, but he's a potential trade asset down the line, and a solid haul for a guy they didn't want.

Not a huge fan for Detroit though. Jennings has name appeal but I think he's too bball dumb to really run the team. Between him and Smoove, there's potential for a lot of bad shots to be jacked up.

i didnt get why but he got invited to slam dunk contest in 2011 but couldnt go and was replaced by derozen.. he has to have some sort of athleticism to be in the slam dunk contest as a 6'1" PG
