Stunned that they exercised Rivers. Force him to earn another NBA contract.

Same. Isn't this really early too? Didn't they have until June 30 to decide this?

I mean, I get exercising Davis' option ASAP, but Rivers? Am I missing something here?

I would like to agree but I guess they know more than we do. Maybe he'll turn it around this year and become a better player.

Maybe they want to allocate that amount of money so he's easily tradeable.

Rivers had a very good SL and preseason and was also much improved during the second half of last season before sitting down the year with an injury.

He turned 21 years of age two months ago and was drafted for his long term upside since most people knew he wasn't ready to contribute in the NBA.

Yet people are calling him all sorts of things.

He's exactly the type of guy that will succeed because he grew up around NBA players and always had a luxurious life, meaning he won't be in it for the money. He's in it because he wants to be a good NBA player and he has the raw tools and right mindset to get there.

I'm rooting for the kid.

Off topic, but those NOLA jerseys are NICE. I hate the new ones that were introduced.

If your last name is Rivers, you're overrated...

Unless it's in Spanish and it's Rios, then you're underrated...

Wow, was not expecting Rivers to get an extention until later on this year!
