Anthony Bennett Still Looking For First NBA Basket

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Nov 4, 2013 3:41 am

Anthony Bennett has yet to make his first NBA basket.

"I just feel like there’s a lid on the basket," said Bennett. "Three games and no shots went in, but I just have to keep working."

Bennett is now 0-for-12 from the field and 0-for-6 on three-pointers.

"Never," said Bennett when he was asked if he's ever had a stretch like this. "I also went through surgery and stuff. This is all kind of new to me. Basically this is my 11th game coming back off of surgery, haven’t played the whole summer. It’ll come to me."

It'll be pretty tough for him to get significant production behind all the other bigmen the team has.

Were talking about a guy on Irvings team......and has Jack as his PG...

Were also talking about the #1 overall pick, when they had their choice of anyone....Hell even MCW has done more in 1 quarter than he did in 3 games.

I'm Canadian, but even I knew this guy had bust written all over him.

Cleveland has seriously made some bad picks after being gift wrapped 1st overalls and top 5 picks over the last few years.

3 games and you GM's are calling him a bust? If that's the case, please trade him to the Suns for a conditional 2nd round pick. I'm sure we can find some use for him.

Lol, Lebron is probably following the cavs closely this season to see if anything from a mgmt perspective has changed since he left. It looks like everything is the same. Lebron like Irving was a franchise player that the cavs drafted #1 but than the subsequent years surrounded him with bad draft picks and players on bad contracts (wink larry hughes) who just made the team have a low ceiling. I dobt LBJ is coming back after seeing the cavs waste picks on waiters and bennet when so many better prospects were on the boards like harrison barnes and victor oladipo. The tristan thompson pick of a two drafts ago has redeemed itself because he's shown he can be a solid rotation player but that pick is going to be criticized for ages if Jonas Valancunas turns into one of the top centers in the league.

Cavs should've gone Dipo.

He's only taken 12 shots the entire season on 13mpg. He'll be fine.

While we're at it, let's make some more premature judgments:

Derrick Rose is a horrible player now!

The Sixers are the best team in the NBA!

Cleveland dropped the ball big time on this guy. I don't think I'd have picked him in the lottery in most drafts.

Not that I'm a Pistons fan but pretty sure they drafted stuckey in the middle of the 1st round, not with the 1st overall pick.

Also Pistons won a championship and had some good years.

That' a reach, he was definitely going to be lottery pick but many mock drafts had him going between 6-10 and than everyone on tv like simmons and broussard gasped when cavs picked him #1. That was probably the biggest surprise pick/reach in nba draft history. It also shows how stuck up the cavs organization is for not trading down and putting unwarranted pressure on the kid. Both Phoenix at #5 and Sacramento at #7 had oladipo on top of their draft boards. I'm sure cavs could have traded down while pick up multiple assets. They did the same thing in 2012 reaching for waiters at #4 when they easily could have traded down to #8 with the raptors who wanted harrison barnes and still have gotten him or andre drummond.
