Shavlik Randolph Signs With Suns For Remainder Of Season

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Mar 1, 2014 6:53 pm

Free agent center Shavlik Randolph has signed with the Phoenix Suns for the rest of the season, with a team option for 2014-15, his agent, Joel Bell, told RealGM.

Randolph had played for Guangdong of the Chinese Basketball Association this season, averaging 22.3 points and 12.3 rebounds on one of the league’s elite clubs.

To create roster space, the Suns released Slava Kravtsov.

Undrafted in 2005, Randolph bounced around in the NBA and overseas after spending his first three seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers. He has also played for the Portland Trail Blazers, Miami Heat and Boston Celtics. He was a productive reserve for the Celtics a season ago, scoring 4.2 points and grabbing 4.4 rebounds per game.

Randolph, 30, has played six NBA seasons.

Nets should have signed Shavlik Randolph when they had the chance. He would have been a great fit with Jason Collins off the bench.

I totally agree! Very disappointed in the Nets. Would have been an awesome addition to the Nets with Collins of the bench. I just posted an article about signing Shavlik a few days ago.

The funny thing about Randolph is he plays some games in the NBA every year, but he never sticks with any team. He should be considered the ultimate borderline NBA player.

I've always thought this guy's name and his appearance don't match.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

Man, this guy is the ultimate NBA survivor. He always gets waived or disappears and somehow always manages to pop back up on another team.

Good for Shav. He certainly belongs in the NBA based on how he played last year.

This guy showed serious hustle and some good skills last year while playing for the Celtics. Surprised they did not sign him again.
