The best fits for Philadelphia in order from best fit with the current roster to the worst (IMO)*
this is not a ranking of the prospects, it is a ranking of their potential fit with the current lottery picks that Philadelphia already has on the roster.
Wiggins: Great defender, phenomenal athlete, chance to be great. Philly can add a shooter at 10 and they have impact players on rookie deals at 1,2,3, and 5.
Vonleh: Defense, rebounding, and outside touch. Give Noah and Nerlens a few years to develop together and their best case scenario would be 2009 Chris Bosh next to a 2011 Tyson Chandler. That is a scary good front court. Vonleh's potential as a floor spacer is important because Brent Brown's offense depends on great floor spacing. Also, MCW would do even better playing with a stretch 4.
Parker: Really polished offensive player, could be a great power forward. With Noel to erase some of his mistakes, Parker's defensive deficiencies aren't as damaging. Once again, a good stretch 4 makes MCW more effective.
Exum: He and MCW would give Philly a young, athletic, exciting back court duo. Neither can shoot well but guards usually improve their shot in the first few years of development. Two 6'6" pg on the court gives Philly a TON of offensive and defensive versatility.
Embiid: The prospect with the most long term upside, Embiid is also the worst fit in Philly. Noel spent the last year rehabbing and rebuilding his jump shot. That doesn't mean he can play the 4. Embiid offers more potential than Noel, but they don't fit well together. We are talking very different talent levels here, but the best comparison to trying to fit Noel and Embiid together would be Dwight Howard next to Omer Asik. Both are great defenders, but neither can shoot.
Potential outcomes...
Wiggins goes first.
Milwaukee picks Jabari Parker. The Bucks need scoring badly and Jabari makes an instant impact.
Philly has the choice among Exum, Embiid, and Vonleh.
Wiggins goes first.
Milwaukee picks Embiid or Exum. Both center and pg are areas where the Bucks can improve/ get younger.
Philly picks up Jabari Parker.
Wiggins goes first.
Milwaukee picks Embiid or Exum. Both center and pg are areas where the Bucks can improve/ get younger.
Utah trades a ton of assets to move up from 5 to 3 so they can select Parker. At 5, Philly get whomever is left in the Exum, Embiid, Vonleh group.
Wiggins doesn't go first. The Cav's pick either the defensive center they really need or they pick the immediate impact player in Parker (because their owner really, really wants to make the playoffs).
Milwaukee picks whomever they like the best. Rumor has it that the Bucks have Wiggins 4th on their big board because they have Giannis Antetokounmpo as the future on the wing in Milwaukee.
Wiggins falls to 3 naturally and the 76ers get to keep their 10th pick and Thaddeus Young.
