Hornets Offered Henderson, 24th Pick To Magic For Afflalo

The Charlotte Hornets are firmly focused on acquiring shooters this offseason.

The Hornets own the ninth overall pick and are believed to be targeting Doug McDermott, Nik Stauskas or Gary Harris.

Charlotte offered Gerald Henderson and the 24th overall pick to the Orlando Magic for Arron Afflalo.

Afflalo was traded on Thursday to the Denver Nuggets.

That's also my first reaction. And then I realise Fournier is both much younger and a much better shooter than Henderson.

I don't think the magic front office is fully at fault - afflalo is an expiring deal - he's under paid and will definitely opt out next summer. He also made it know he wants to be traded to a contending team. I think the magic shopped him to bunch of teams but wanted to get rid of him by the draft in case they decided to draft another young guard with one of their picks. The magic gm seems to be very smart - he got a king's ransom for dwight howard when everyone told him to acquire a broken andrew bynum or brook lopez instead.

Thank God you're not a GM. Henderson is complete poo. Fournier who is 21 is already better than Henderson was at that age. Rob Hennigan got a steal. Just watch Henny gonna prove you wrong.

Orlando received a much lower pick in the deal with Denver, but they get a younger player in Fournier and it opens up more minutes for their younger players and they save $$$. Good trade for Orlando.

I think it's absolutely hilarious that Henderson has any trade value at all lol. I laughed out loud when I learned that he's even one of the 3 captains on the team. If Charlotte wants to make big strides, they need to add a rim protector and upgrade their SG to someone who can make 3's. I'm quite impressed with how well their draft night went though.
