Blake Griffin Healing Small Fracture In Back

Blake Griffin withdrew from Team USA's training camp because he was advised by doctors to give more time to heal a small fracture in his back before the NBA season, according to sources.

Griffin is expected to make a full recovery before the Los Angeles Clippers' training camp. He suffered the back injury during the playoffs and doctors advised him to sit out of the international competition.

Griffin and Kevin Love both withdrew from Team USA ahead of training camp on Monday.

It won't be long before the no backbone/spineless Blake Griffin jokes. :lol:

Also Team USA will be fine. Anthony Davis is perfectly capable of playing center internationally. FIBA games are also only 40 minutes so AD can play 30 MPG and someone can fill in for the rest at center.

Cousins and Davis will be just fine inside for the U.S. In fact much more natural centers than Blake and Love.

This sounds especially worse given how many times he soars towards the rim for vicious dunks every year. Back fracture? :-?

The thing is, on half his dunks, he didn't need to be that powerful. He could have toned it down and still made an impact on the dunk.
