Ray Allen Will Make Decision In September

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Aug 9, 2014 7:45 pm

Ray Allen will wait until September before deciding if he will continue his NBA career for a 19th season.

Allen has been linked with joining LeBron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"It's August and I don't want to rush to judgment," Allen said Friday night at the seventh annual Jim Calhoun Charity All-Star Classic. "I want to get to September and see how I really feel."

Allen averaged 26 minutes and 9.6 points per game off the bench last season.

Who really cares where he goes? Allen has visibly declined over the past 4 seasons and at 39, you can be damn sure he's got nowhere to go but down.

I'll laugh if anyone gives him more than the vet min.
And just like that, the lead has been cut to 8!

Ray Allen Will Make Decision In September in a pay per view special extravaganza. Then he will pen an essay describing why he made the decision. Then he will appear on the talk show circuit. He's already sold the writes to his novel.

ESPN is reporting that Allen has already made the decision to keep playing. He's probably going to Cleveland.

Let's be serious. LeBron could decide to retire from basketball to become a pro ping pong player and Ray Allen would follow.

Didn't he hit arguably the biggest shot in Finals history just last year? If you're ever in a situation where you need a clutch three and Ray Allen rises up to take it - what do you think the opposing team is going to be thinking?

"Not even worried. Allen has visibly declined over the past 4 seasons and at 39 that's probably not going in."

No way, Jorge! They'd be shaking in their boots. The opposing team's goal on a play like that would be, "anybody but Ray Allen!"

Plus, he can still stretch the floor because of his shooting prowess and that is very valuable.

There's no point to care about his actions at this point. Everybody knew he would follow LBJ wherever he goes or retire.

Plenty of reasons -
According to a very recent report Pat Riley was trying to sign him in Miami.
The Clippers are also pursuing him.

Ray Allen himself said its no lock he goes to the Cavs. He's also said he's unsure about a new city and a new coach. Clearly he's looking for comfort or he's just as likely to stay home. He's just as likely to sign with Doc Rivers in L.A. or Riley in Miami as he is with the Cavs. Maybe more so if you take his own words into account.

Kyrie most of the time when he shoots starts with the ball and then dribbles a while then shoots. -statistical analysis from a 'longtime' Cavs fan (June 2017)

LOL Ray Allen makes it seem people are banging on his door begging him to come to their team. You've stopped being a good player a WHILE ago. We're not holding out breath.

This is ridiculous, he is obviously going to Cleveland. I bet Bosh and Wade would have joined if they could.

Yeah to win A ring. I can understand if you were a champion that gave his all for his club and at the end of your career you want to win the elusive ring. I understand and get that.

But Ray won a ring with Boston so he'd done that. He then got a 2nd with Heat.

There is something quite sad about watching a guy like Ray Allen running around like a little puppy after LeBron James trying to rack up what are effectively going to be meaningless rings. I'm sure he isn't going to Cleveland for the wonderful weather and lifestyle it offers. He probably wouldn't be seen dead in Cleveland if LeBron wasn't there.

I reckon it's just sad to watch all these guys following around LeBron like he is the pied piper.

Assuming he goes to the Cavs, that team is now filled with a ton of vets. Any potential **** Waiters may have pulled last year, that won't fly anymore.
