The argument is the all star game is for the fans, I get that... but when China can vote in people over more deserving people you have a clear system that is easily abused.
Make it for the fans, as a fan I appreciate that but have it make sense first.
I want to watch the guys who earned it not people's favorites while deserving stars are overlooked, then we sit around and hope someone is nominated after the fact as a replacement.
Garbage.

What are you talking about here, bro? The fans did a pretty damn good job this year. Kyle Lowry, John Wall, Marc Gasol all deservedly got voted as starters, and they none of them are true "fan favorites". They got the nod cuz they deserved it. Quite honestly the coaches had the more questionable picks, if anything. I.e. selecting Wade in the East, and not giving a spot to Brandon Knight. Also I think if anyone should have made it from Dallas its Monta instead of Dirk. This is an exact case of the "life-time achievment" nod over thhe deserving more unknown star.

Dirk: 18 PPG, 6 REB, 2 AST, 20.65 PER..... FG: 43%, 3PT: 33%, FT: 68%
Draymond: 11 PPG, 8, REB, 3 AST, 15.77 PER..... FG: 46%, 3PT: 36%. FT: 88%
One has all-star numbers, one does not.
Hint... Draymond does not

You play two sides of the floor. Draymond is the most impactful defensive player in the league this season.
