Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Mar 1, 2015 6:19 pm

JaVale McGee is discussing a potential contract buyout with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to sources.

Chances of McGee's buyout depends on McGee's ability to find a team to bring him in now.

Guess the supposed sentiment from both sides was just posturing? Wonder who decided it wouldn't work out.

Now, with T-Rob on the board, the Sixers don't need McGee. There are enough bigs on the team: Sims, Noel, Robinson, Aldemir.
And Javale is Javale, he is a funny guy, but for a young Sixers team, a guy like McGee isn't the best thing... ;) Btw, when he was on the court, he did nothing...

Just out of curiosity... If JaVale McGee were to be bought out by the Sixers, would his current salary count against the cap?

unless he is claimed off waivers, at which point the receiving team picks up the remaining tab.

...which would not happen. he'll clear and get a vet minimum deal in addition to his buyout agreement.
