DeAndre Jordan: Free Agency Process Is Going To Be Fun

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Mar 17, 2015 10:13 pm

DeAndre Jordan will be one of the most highly sought after free agents in the 2015 offseason.

The Los Angeles Clippers won't necessarily have a head start in re-signing Jordan.

“I mean I’ve obviously been here seven years, and the past two have been great,” said Jordan. “Doc (Rivers) has been my biggest supporter and the best coach I’ve ever had. The team is great. The guys are great. We have great camaraderie. But the free agency process is definitely going to be a fun one.”

Jordan was highly productive during the absence of Blake Griffin.

I'd rather see the Lakers draft a big man.

Did you forget that the Lakers are in LA and have like... unlimited cap space (pretty much)?

Give them Jordan, give them Harris and let them draft Mudiay...

Mudiay
Kobe
Harris
Randle
Jordan

Probably not a playoff team this year... but definitely a good team going forward.

Lol Hmm if your DeAndre would you rather play for Doc Rivers, who like he said is his biggest supporter and best coach, or sign with Lakers and play for Byron Scott? Tough choice....

$16M+ over the cap vs. unlimited cap? In the company of Ike Austin and Michael 'The Candy Man' Olowokandi vs. Mikan, Chamberlain, Abdul Jabbar, Divac, Shazam, Gasol? Taking "a little less" vs. 4 years $18M per? Billy Crystal vs. Jack? Never making the ASG vs. having Laker Nation vote you in as a starter year after year? "Tough choice" for sure. People can hate on the Lakers all day, but (excluding recent tribulations) we're a factory that turns athletes into icons. See you in the purp and gold DeAndre.

Where did I say that he's staying with the Clippers, I said he's not leaving the city, and I fully know the Lakers have significant cap space, read thoroughly before you comment.

Steve Ballmer vs Jim Buss. Clippers have his Bird rights so cap space is not an issue.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Healthy big man that is a force around the rim both offensively and defensively? Definitely worth a max compared to some of the other contracts that have been dished out in recent history...

Cap space might not be an issue to sign DJ, but to sign other free agent it is. Clippers need a bench, a SG (JJ is a 6th man) and a SF ( someone who can play defense on the perimeter. Maxing out DJ on paper might not be a bad idea but the clippers can use that money to make the team better. Their team is decent but not a roster that will win a championship anytime soon. I think this is going to be a hard decision for the Clippers

Except for Clipper fans.
