Smart move by the Wolves. Thibs is arguably the second best coach in the league after Pop. He can definitely create a winning culture around KAT.

This question is such a logically devoid question that I'm refusing to acknowledge it.

Better example would be the Jazz -- he is credited with finding Stockton, trading for Jeff Malone and Jeff Hornacek and building the Jazz's Finals teams.

In New York he was wise to get Shandon Anderson and Howard eisley locks up to long term deals ...

Rick Carlisle is by far the 2nd best coach in the nba after Pop. People just forget how good he is cause he's been coaching trash since the 2011 title. He coached a mavs team of misfits to a 7 game series against the Spurs in the first round of the 2014 title - a year where Spurs defeated the Heat in rematch to win it all. Dirk and Carlisle don't leave behind the mediocrity in Dallas because of their relationship with Mark Cuban.

So Scott Layden can get a job again as a GM but Isiah Thomas cant. That guy had more to do with the knicks sucking in the post ewing era than anyone

A championship with the Celtics.

Thibs was the mastermind of that defense, not Doc.

I didn't see offense being a problem for the Wolves. Having Thibodeau as coach will mean a gritty defensive team that will get out and score in transition. This has the potential to be a very good Wolves team if everyone buys in, which seems likely. Injuries aside, this team is looking like a tough out for the next decade. On a side note, I have to give Minnesota credit; they are doing their job to keep Andrew Wiggins from coming home to Toronto anytime soon.

Reuniting Thibs and KG. Get that winning culture in place.

They need to get rid of Rubio. He won't work in Thibs' system. In order to be successful, Thibs needs a shoot first, to the rim kind of PG. All of his success was had when guys like Rose, Augustin, Nate Robinson, Brooks, hell even John Lucas III were at the helm. Rubio is the complete opposite of that play style, and honestly after listening to the Zach Lowe podcast, Thibs basically has said he refuses to change his approach. Also they may have young star power, but no depth and not a great cap situation, with the money they're paying Rubio and Pek. Nobody will take Pek, so the best option is getting rid of Rubio for another athletic backup big, and maybe another outside shooter, cuz Prince was god awful.

They both will do anything they can to win.

I think that's more important than Rubio's perceived scoring issues. I think they will get along fine.
