Craig Sager To Work Game 6 Of Finals With ESPN

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Jun 15, 2016 2:44 pm

Craig Sager of TNT will join ESPN's NBA Finals broadcast team for Game 6.

Sager will share sideline reporting duties with Doris Burke.

Sager has never worked an NBA Finals broadcast in his career.

“I’d like to thank Turner and ESPN for approaching me with this tremendous opportunity to be part of The Finals broadcast team,” said Sager. “I’ve been watching the series very closely and, while I do not want to distract in any way from the event itself, I look forward to being in the building for what will be an incredibly exciting Game 6. The NBA community is a very special one and this is a great honor.”

On July 13, ESPN will present Sager with the Jimmy V Perseverance Award at The 2016 ESPYS presented by Capital One on ABC. Sager was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2014.

I'm a grown man and this story and headline gave me all kinds of feels. This man is a legend.

He works for tnt. The finals have always been on nbc or abc.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Even if Draymond was suspended - the last game was still an elimination game. Sager should have been covering that game - pretty sure he would have extracted much more entertaining responses to the draymond suspension from players from both teams than the current espn crew covering the series.

Very impressed how Craig, and Stuart Scott for that matter have really championed their unfortunate last sagas of life or whatever you want to call it. Craig is doing what he loves for as long as he can; good on him. Something I will try to keep with me and remember should I ever have to face such an unfortunate scenario.

Stupendous. Like "Make-A-Wish" for grownups. I hope that doesn't come off as insulting -- I love how earnest and sincere Craig is in all that he does.

So they waited till game 6 to offer him this job?,when this series could have easily already been over. Just shows us another reason why many think the nba finals was fixed.

Hopefully this doesn't represent some sort of final wish.
