The Philadelphia 76ers have increased their efforts to acquire the third overall pick from the Boston Celtics.

The 76ers already own the top overall pick and will select Ben Simmons.

Looks like the Sixer's are going to try and jump the Suns in getting Kris Dun. I would hold on to Okafor and rather trade Noel.

I think Okafor is what Boston would like. They have enough defense in the team already. Other way could be throw in Saric. Philly doesnt have too many things that the C's wants.

If the Sixers get the third pick as well, they will pick Dunn. They are looking for PGs to complement Simmons.

Cetlics fan.

We don't want AL Jefferson minus the rebounding. Which is what Okafor is. Hell if we wanted that we'd trade for a cheaper version in Greg Monroe.

We want Noel as we have 0 frontcourt players and getting an athletic Center that can anchor our team full of good perimeter defenders would complete our defense.

Also Stevens runs a system that is heavy on 3 point chucking and pick and rolling, so Noel would work very well there.

Not sure a 1 year contract on Noel would be worth the #3 though.

Ideally the Celtics would get someone like Saric too, maybe for our #23 first rounder. Something like.

#3, #23, a second rounder or 3 for Noel and Saric.

The only people who say the Celtics should get Okafor are other teams who are hoping to benefit from the #3 pick.

If you're looking to find something for the Cetlic's Team's best interest, pick Noel.

Fits in defensively, brings athletic prowess to a frontcourt that DESPERATELY needs it. Sorry Sully, Kelly, Zeller you're not getting it done. Amir sometimes.

Trading for Noel is a win win for both teams. The 76ers get Dunn ... and are starting to look like the T-Wolves in terms of potential.

1) Nobody wants Okafor.

2) Colonjello can keep blowing smoke up everyone's arse, but we all know his real target with the 3rd pick is Dragan Bender.

Philly needs salary.

Philly trades: Nerlens Noel and #26

Boston trades: #3, Amir Johnson (team option), #31 and #35.

Noel is a perfect backup c if Embiid is healthy, so since they're drafting Simmons and adding Saric, I think Okafor would be the best one to move.

I also think Brad Stevens would do an amazing job of utilizing Okafor and extracting more value from him than from whomever they'd get with the 3rd pick.

But I think what is meant by 'increasing effort to get 3rd pick' is that Philly is increasing their effort to find a 3rd team to facilitate trading Okafor for the 3rd pick. So Okafor goes to some other team, and that team sends something to Boston that the Celtics covet more than Okafor.
