Tyler Zeller, Celtics Agree Upon Two-Year Deal

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Jul 23, 2016 3:37 pm

The Boston Celtics have agreed to re-sign Tyler Zeller on a two-year deal.

The second season of Zeller's deal is a team option for the Celtics.

Boston acquired Zeller during the 2014 offseason as the Cavaliers cleared cap space.

He needs to get a new agent. With the contracts that many bench players got, he should get more.

Waited too late, a lot of the money has dried up by now. And nobody's going to clear space for Zeller.

Mozgov, Miles Plumlee, and Meyers Leonard are all having a good laugh over this

They are all distinctly better and/or possess more tangible upside than Zeller. There's a reason the Celtics didn't play Zeller unless they had no choice last season.

Now, are those guys many multiples more impactful than TZ? Maybe not. But that premium reflects on the fact that you had to bid on them to get them. The Celtics get Zeller on a team friendly 1+1 for a reason.

What the heck? He should probably fire his agent. Tyler Zeller would have gotten double that imo with this new cap space agreement. I think he's getting paid less than Tarik Black

Who was bidding on Mozgov, Plumlee, and Leonard? Lol... At the end of the day, all those guys are back-up centers that will barely affect the win column

I swear I read this a little while ago and it said 2-year $8 million. Am I crazy or was it an error that was fixed?
