Matt Bonner Still Looking For Deal, Unlikely To Re-Sign With Spurs

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Aug 10, 2016 2:59 pm

Matt Bonner continues to look to sign with an NBA even as he acknowledges it probably won't be the San Antonio Spurs.

Bonner has spent 10 seasons with the Spurs.

"Currently they haven't signed me," said Bonner. "Unless something changes going into the season, I'm probably not going to be with the Spurs."

Bonner shot 41 percent on three-pointers during his tenure with the Spurs.

Bring home the Red Rocket and I will pay for his metro pass.

He may have championships, but there's one thing he's still missing. His Canadian Citizenship

I think the spurs still have a slither of cap space to spend after duncan retired - and they are negotiating deals with some European players they have rights to in order to spend the space. Bonner is going to sign for the veterans minimum regardless so spurs can go over the cap to retain him but her is likely not getting a commitment on a roster spot before the season starts so his agent putting other teams on notice that he wants a deal and maybe if another team steps up than spurs(where he wants to be) will finally commit to him. Similar thing happened to Bonner after Spurs were recruiting and finalizing Aldridge and Ginoblli deals last summer - he was signed afterwards.

The original McBuckets. Now the Bulls can give Dougie to the Spurs , so he can spend the next decade as their 12th man.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down
