Kawhi Leonard has led the NBA in PER during the playoffs after finishing second in MVP voting last season and likely to finish in the top-3 this year.

"Kawhi Leonard, in my opinion, is the best player in the league right now," said Gregg Popovich.

Leonard also won Defensive Player of the Year during the past two seasons, though he's unlikely to win this season.

Why is he unlikely to win DPOY this year? If he's not the popular pick for the first choice - i expect him to rake in the higher point total having a combination of significant first ballot support and a lot of 2nd ballot support similar to how he beat draymond the first year he won. If you can't give the man mvp than hand him another trophy.
