The Lakers attempted to demote Lee under the new regime of Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka.

Lee worked for the Lakers for four seasons, beginning as a consultant in 12-13.

The Lakers were previously known as one of the late adopters of advanced analytics within their front office.
