The Houston Rockets have waived Jarrod Uthoff.

Uthoff's contract would have become guaranteed at $200,000 on Sunday.

Uthoff averaged 4.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 12.8 minutes over nine games last season with the Mavericks.

Went undrafted in 2016 then signed a partially guaranteed deal with the Raptors. He was cut then signed with Dallas. Dallas then traded him to Houston when Moorey was collecting all of those UNG contracts
He played at the University of Iowa. Lead the Big ten in Scoring & blocks his senior year. 6'9 white guy with long arms. Excellent 3pt shooter but has a slow release. I think his biggest problem is his lateral movement on defense. Probably needs to get a little stronger too. Still looks like a kid thats never had to shave, thou he is very skilled. I think he'll find a home once he gets a little tougher

Originally signed with Wisconsin out of high school, but wanted to be released from his commitment and be free to go anywhere. This became a big story throughout the sports world because Wisconsin tried to force Uthoff away from certain teams. It became a story about the rights of student-athletes. Bo Ryan didn't want him to be able to go to any big 10 school. At the end of it all, Uthoff was allowed to go to Iowa by the NCAA.
