Kristaps Porzingis Emerges As Cavaliers' Primary Trade Tarket

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Aug 15, 2017 2:08 pm

Kristaps Porzingis has emerged as the Cleveland Cavaliers' primary target in Kyrie Irving trade discussions.

Porzingis would give the Cavaliers a young star who could also help them immediately as he enters his third NBA season.

The Cavaliers would need to take on the three seasons and $55 million remaining on the contract of Joakim Noah in order to begin a conversation with the New York Knicks.

During Phil Jackson's final days as president of the Knicks, he explored the trade market of Porzingis.

Multiple NBA teams are questioning how emphatic the Knicks will continue to be on their "no" in trading Porzingis for Irving. Porzingis remains distant from the organization.

Every day more and more, "news" like this have the appearance of pure propaganda for one side of a negotiation battle.

Woj in particular with the Kyrie thing since he joined ESPN

"Porzingis remains distant from the organization."

That's interesting because it directly contradicts earlier reports coming out of N.Y.

Why don't they ask for a dozen super models while they're dreaming, too. Anthony isn't worth a much more than a bag of dirty jockey straps. Porzingas? Cleveland must be out of their minds.

I think Love/Irving for Porzingis/Noah/Melo works in the trade machine. I know Melo doesn't want to go to Cleveland, but maybe he'd change his mind on that.

NY gets two young stars, Cavs get a young stud and Melo. Noah may be a good fit with Lebron (though I'm doubtful of his health).

I am sorry but do you count Love and Irving as two young stars?

Irving is 25 so he qualifies as a young star but Love will be 29 soon which obviously disqualifies him from that category.

Because it's not like players ever attempt to appease the fans and media? This would be a really dumb move by the Knicks I agree but I wouldn't count it out.

irving is still youngish, but this guy is wrong on so many accounts.

the knicks do this, they get significantly worse, which i thought was surprisingly impossible.

but the knicks seem to be moving in the right direction: getting rid of phil, trying to trade melo, but not for ****.

getting rid of porzingis for irving would be stupidly idiotic, making them worse, and setting them back further than having just melo in NY for the last few years.

and i'm not a porzingis fan

According to Adrian Wojnarowski. Basically the best basketball reporter in terms of breaking news. This info most likely came from the Cleveland front office in their hopes to leverage the situation and get a young star. If other teams think Porzingis is available, then they would (ideally from Cleveland's perspective) increase their trade offers for Irving.

I still think he's the best fit in San Antonio, from a basketball perspective.
I believe in Masai.
