Terry Rozier Was Confident Celtics Wouldn't Trade Him

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Sep 10, 2017 2:09 pm

Terry Rozier has been the subject of trade interest during his time with the Boston Celtics, but Danny Ainge has so far resisted including him any deals.

Rozier was reportedly a sticking point in several rumored trades.

Rozier was asked if he was ever worried the Celtics would trade him this summer as they have reshaped their roster.

"Nah, Danny won't trade me," said Rozier with a laugh.

Rozier is entering his third season with the Celtics and saw an increased role in 16-17.

Bad assumption... Danny would trade his grandmother for a cup of coffee if he felt sleepy.

I understand it's the off season but this is not much of a headline.

That's not confidence, that's niavete. Rozier didn't happen to get traded this time, but he's definitely the type of asset that can (and likely will) get traded before his career is over.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

He got a lot more burn in the playoffs and he shot around 37%

It's hard to evaluate a guard that sometimes only plays 3 minutes total in a game because he doesn't get a chance to get into a rhythm.

If he played consistently 15-20 I think his playoff numbers would be more accurate. The eye test shows a good stroke.

Eh... This seems like textbook Ainge trying to "leak" that so and so was being asked for or offered to other teams when they really weren't...

Rozier is a third string combo guard who's arguably worse than someone like Isaiah Whitehead... He could probably land a mid second but not much else on his own.

It was a textbook joke that flew over the head of whoever the RealGM headline guy is.

Production wise he might have been poor last year, but talent wise he could turn some heads this coming season with the right improvements. Decision making, running the pick and roll and hitting the threeball consistently are things he needed to work on this offseason. We'll see if he has improved on those things in the near future. He's going to have a bigger role so it's now or never.
