Padres Listening 'More Intently' On Justin Upton, Ian Kennedy

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jul 24, 2015 11:06 am

The San Diego Padres are believed to be listening "more intently" than ever on trade offers for Justin Upton and Ian Kennedy.

Other executives also claim that San Diego would "love to trade (James) Shields."

Teams that have spoken to the Padres also say the team is "open" to potential deals involving Craig Kimbrel, Andrew Cashner and Tyson Ross, but any offer would have to be to their liking.

Upton is a free agent and Kennedy shouldn't be pitching for a play-off team, so at best they might get a prospect for the middle of the infield. Kimbrel and Ross should be kept for next year,IMO.
I do think the Padres should do a deal for Shields or Cashner. There is a big hole at short. How about Shields for Castro and a prospect?
