People are making very fair points in saying that the warriors should be the favorites because they won the chip however I disagree. As we have seen in the east with LeBron constantly changing teams, it is typically the team that has the most talent that will be the favorite. If changes were minor then sure GS is the favorite but LA and David West going to the Spurs is huge. You're adding an all-star and a really talented veteran to a team that constantly goes very deep into the playoffs. This past year it was either San Antonio or LAC that had to be eliminated in the first round and you can't hold that against the spurs. The playoff system is a damn shame but that is a whole other debate.

Warriors didnt lose any key players so until the games begin they cant be demoted from the top spot. while the Spurs have added a lot of talent theres no telling how its all going to mesh and how long thats going to take. its like when they signed Richard Jefferson and everyone went on and on about how much better they got. RJ sucked and it didnt work out. Manu isnt the same player. Tony Parker was really bad most of last yr. the Spurs are in a massive transitional period. Aldridge is an excellent player but its all an unknown. the Warriors know what they have and they're still really, really good

RJ fit with what the Spurs were doing - he was just massively overpaid for his production. He didn't make the team worse like some other major FA signings of the past.

Parker and Ginobli are another year older. No inside presence.... Spurs are not as good as in past years. Top 4= Warriors--Clippers--Thunder--Pelicans.
