The Blazers lost 3 out of their top 4 players. Shame on 10% of you

They can't lose 5 starters and still have Lillard... or can they? But really it's not that bad for them.

Afflalo was a planned rental and only started because Mathews was injured.

Batum has been in the league 7 years and we are still hearing about his potential. I couldn't wait for the trade.

Lopez is a serviceable center but is limited on offense and only a decent defender. He would be a bench player on most good teams. He's funny as hell, though!

Aldridge will thrive in Pop's system but is in no way dominant enough to be the best player on a Championship team. He's a good second option on a contender. His departure frees Portland up to go in a different direction and it will work out better for them in the long run. They would have continued to be a 5-8 seed as long as he stuck around.

Mathews was the only player that I really didn't want to see go. His work ethic is second to none. I hope it works out well for him in Dallas.

All that said, I agree with you .The Blazers should have had zero votes. I voted for the Thunder just for getting Durant back.

Tanking has become so mainstream that people think it's BETTER than winning. It's the unfortunate reality of today's soft NBA :noway:

So was Lillard a bench player for them? Or were they allowed 6 starters? Is this like that assfault, pets allowed, outdoor game thread where multiple teams or more players are allowed? Please enlighten me on how they lost FIVE starters.

Afflalo started after Matthews went down with injury

so technically, they did lose 5 starters

Afflalo was a bench player forced into a starting role because of the Matthews injury. But he was still a backup. If you look at it any other way then Portland lost 8 starters because Gee, Freeland and Wright also left and they started games due to injuries.

Portland did well with the card they were dealt. But for them to get votes in this poll they would have needed to keep everyone and add a player or two.

As the other poster said, that means any scrubs who had a spot start would count as 'Starters' and could be added to this list

Also don't assume that just because Afflalo is going to start on a garbage team like the Knicks that he's considered around the league as a full-time starter

LOL someone is mad their team lost 5 starting caliber players, Afflalo has started 432 out of his 577 career games, I'd say he is a starter not A "scrub who had a spot start"

Can't tell if serious....

They are not quite in the northwest but based on the geography of teams, most are situated in the east and the south. So the further northwest you go, the further the teams are and the more ridiculous the distance between them seems

I don't know this qualifies them as posers... should they "keep it real" and simply enter another division at their own will?

How are you not thoroughly outraged that Memphis and OKC are both squatting in divisions that they have no geographic reason to be in? You should be thoroughly outraged like me.

While you may hate this comment it's 100% true. I'm sorry to have to put it to you this way, but the Knicks won't be a good team next year. Afflalo was once a starter level player but I don't think so anymore. I think PJ overpaid for the guy out of desperation and will regret it
