Well, it was a decent season. I can only think that the playoffs are a near guarantee for next season.

Not a bad first season and we showed guts in the end. We need some reinforcements and we will be a strong team next season

The whole international call up thing affects everyone during the season but we would do well to firm up the roster to do better for that next year. That said very, very good year. Orlando City owns this town

Aren't we still alive for the playoffs?

I've seen crazier things happen. Basically, we're depending on NYCFC to not only beat New England at Yankee Stadium, but to win by quite a few goals.

Orlando City needs to beat the Union in Philly by a large goal margin as well.

We're at 44 points. New England is at 47. They're at a -1 goal differential for the season. We're at -9.

Basically we and NYCFC have to find a way to make up the 8-goal gap. I don't what the second tiebreaker is after goal differential and if that benefits us our not (so I don't if we need to truly make up 8 goals or 9 goals).

It's very unlikely, but not impossible. I've seen some crazy **** happen in Europe.

We're going to have to come out with a really aggressive lineup against Philly though (like a 3-4-3 for example). If we can get 2-3 goals in the first 30 minutes, it's not completely out of the question. But again, we need NYCFC to play ball as well. Hopefully they'll be determined to give their home fans a win to end the season.

All Eastern Conference games occur at the same time, 5 p.m. EST on Sunday, so if we're somehow up 0-3 on Philly at halftime and NYCFC is up 2-0 at halftime, **** will be crazy.

We should have won 3-1. That was a freaking goal. The crowd was celebrating like we score because we did. Terrible that the ref didn't count it.

PHILADELPHIA UNION vs. ORLANDO CITY
PPL Park, Chester, Pa.
October 25, 2015 (WEEK 34, MLS Game #335)
5 p.m. ET (MLS LIVE)

Orlando City SC still have one final chance to claim a berth in the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs in their inaugural Major League Soccer season, when they meet Philadelphia Union as part of Decision Day at PPL Park on Sunday afternoon. Orlando City must defeat Union by a huge margin – and hope the New England Revolution lose to another expansion side in New York City FC – if they are to clinch sixth place in the Eastern Conference and final postseason spot. OCSC is coming off a 2-1 home win against NYCFC to stay alive last weekend, while Union, already eliminated from playoff consideration, are coming off a 4-1 defeat at the New York Red Bulls last week.

Orlando City and general manager Paul McDonough agree to part ways

Orlando City general manager Paul McDonough will leave Orlando City after a brief transition period, the club announced.

McDonough will help with the 2015 re-entry draft among other things before departing.

“I am sorry to see Paul leave us but fully understand his wishes to further his career within the game,” Orlando City president Phil Rawlins said in a statement. “Paul has been with us for two years and has done a great job in helping the Club build a very competitive MLS roster in our first year. I want to take this opportunity to thank him for all his hard work on our behalf, and to wish Paul well with his future career.”

More to come...

Sounds like the new exec from Portugal will be making roster moves so Paul is being let go.

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orlando-city-lions/on-the-pitch/os-orlando-city-armando-carneiro-leaves-club-20151228-post.html

In a stunning reversal, Orlando City’s chief soccer officer Armando Carneiro has left the club due to “personal reasons.”

Carneiro, who joined the Lions from Benfica in November, was put in charge of soccer operations for all three organizations within the club: Orlando City, Orlando City B and the Orlando Pride.

The move demoted general manager Paul McDonough, who subsequently left the club and was hired by expansion Atlanta United FC as the director of soccer operations.

Now, according to the team’s release, Orlando City president Phil Rawlins will run soccer operations in conjunction with the coaching staff while the team searches for a new general manager.

What in the world is going on? I was starting to get worried about this Carneiro guy because he was doing some odd changes and now he just leaves. Honestly this is probably for the best because I was getting nervous of the moves he was making. Does Paul come back now?

“Unfortunately, stadium construction is taking a little longer than anticipated," said OCSC president Phil Rawlins in a statement Wednesday. "Therefore, in order to provide enough time, we have taken the prudent decision to play the entire 2016 season in the Orlando Citrus Bowl, and concentrate our construction efforts on being fully prepared for opening in 2017.

This was expected.

It's wonderful that they expanded capacity and are paying for the Stadium themselves.

Any thoughts on Nocerino? We got a little thin at times in the middle last year. An insurance policy would be nice.
