nice little ploy to get the lakers to give him that 5yr 135mil extension IMO, lakers cant afford not to give him the dough

i doubt kobe gives up the chance of enshrining himself into top 10 all time status for big bucks

plus, itd hurt his post-retirement market value as an icon

he wants the type of money MJ is raking in post-retirement

Are you kidding? Going overseas will only at the very least, solidify Kobe as an international sports icon. Kobe has the potential to surpass MJ as a household name if he succeeds in Europe, and there's no way he can do it if he stays in the NBA.
