The Official "Build For The Future" Thread

Post#1 » by AttitudeAjusta » Sat Mar 2, 2013 10:46 pm

Ok, so I posted a thread last night about a few things we should seriously consider as a franchise from a technical and fundamental aspect. But to be honest, our biggest problem is probably our most obvious; we lack star talent and talent in general. Although we are lacking, I do believe there is some potential in a few of our players to become solid, starting talent.

-Kemba Walker. I'll start with the obvious. This kid plays his heart out every game for us and was far from a scrub when he started and has vastly improved. Much better fg% , averaging 5.49 assists with the BOBCATS roster that has no finishers.. that by itself says a lot., his 3 pt shot is ridiculously improved, plus he's got swag that our team lacks. i think he will continue to get better with better teammates/finishers. We must keep this kid.

- Gerald Henderson. He keeps improving and is averaging around like 15 ppg. He would start on ANY team that didn't have a superstar SG/Combo Guard. He's smart, athletic, and has some really good moves. And he's fearless. He also has some grittiness about him that our team needs, but overall, he is a good size, and way too talented to let go for a f***ing first rounder. I would keep him at least for a few more years.

-Ramon Sessions. Definitely my favorite player on the team. You would have to be blind to not see exactly how vital this man is to our team and to staying in games and winning some. He's good for at least 12-20 points a night and has a fearless, never giving-up attitude that is an grossly under-appreciated in this league. In my honest opinion, Ramon Sessions is one of the most mentally toughest players in the NBA. His whole career, he's had it rough. This guy has been through everything and never complained. He gets fouled and hacked every game and never complains about. Just keeps playing and pressing forward. Invaluable presence in the locker room and leader-type. Oh yeah, he also averages like 15+ ppg and 3-4 assists per game off the bench. Another important factor- he WANTS to be here and likes it here. It is hard to find that. Absolute must-keep.

-Byron Mullens. Not too sure what to think of him yet. He is crazy skilled and has great tall size, and is getting better at rebounding, but still likes to shoot too much and isnt as consistent as i would like. Still has some amazing games tho, so i wouldn't just let him go without getting something good in return.

-Jeff Taylor. Sometimes i see this kid do some awesome sh*t on the court and seems like a caged animal, waiting to explode on the court and he is electrifying when he does (so does MKG). Problem is consistency. If his confidence improves, I think he could be an all-star type. Unfortunately at some point, well have to decide between him and MKG.

-MKG. I was so pissed when we drafted this kid instead of Drummond. Imagine the WTF i felt when we drafted two smae-size small forwards. The I saw him play. Some flashes of star-talent. Flashes. Then he started getting more confident and more consistent. Then one game I watched him play Anthony Davis and the Hornets. Although we lost, HE ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED DAVIS I couldn't believe it. i thought to myself "it looks like we may have made a great decision and gotten the REAL #1 pick in this draft.." He's hit a wall and hopefully gets out of this slump. Undecided about this kid and Taylor.

-Bismack Biyombo. I am so sick of this guy its crazy. We want him to develop and play against NBA-level talent right? I don't understand why we don't throw him in the D-league until he figures out his game and starts making noise there. He's never gonna learn if he can't even succeed once an keeps getting shot down and failing every attempt. I really don't care what we do about him, even if he walks and gets to be better that we expected, I am so through with him.

-Jeff Adrien. Great sign. Yes raw offensively, but he's big and strong as sh*t and actually rebounds with force. only person on team that really does.

-Ben Gordon. We need to try to motivate him somehow and make use of his hot-shooting because you don't just loose shooting ability, especially in a small span of years. If we can somehow make him happy, he would be a great addition. If not, I really don't care what we do with this dude.

Except for Biyombo, I am with you on just about everything. I don't understand how you can be completely sick with a 20-year-old that is supposed to be terrible right now.

I was pretty high on Biz before drafting him and I do remember how raw they said he was and I only expected him to get a few rebounds and blocks, which is what he did and still does, but his handling of the ball, and mostly CATCHING the f*cking ball is his biggest problem. I will only cut this fool some slack because he is so young and fresh, but his catching of the ball is such a giant, gaping problem for him that it limits all other facets of his game. I truly believe he would be at least as good as Ibaka or Faried if he could catch the ball and other players had to respect him.

He's been working on it. It's better than it was when he entered the league. His hands were worse than Kwame's and I didn't think that was possible.

dont really agree with Henderson or Biz....biz is only going to get better by playing against NBA level talent....yea he is pretty raw and shouldnt be playing more than 15-20 a night but taking a guy that is playing 25 plus minutes a night then benching him and sending him to the dleague is just not an option anymore.

henderson couldnt start for every team in this league. he is an avg shooting guard in a league full of avg shooting guards. he only shows up for large market teams and mails it in for everyone else at best he is a first man off the bench type. i really think its time for the team to move on.

We've got MJ as a GM. Now lets do a Biyombo for Kantner straight up trade. Where do I sign?

I used to think that Hendo was expendable until I realized that the SG position is just as scarce as the C position in the NBA. I think my issue with Hendo going into the season was that everybody thought he was our #1 player but now that that sought of thinking is pretty much done and over with I find value in him as a 3rd-4th option on our team. He's slightly above average and not a all-star so of course we could use a upgrade at SG but our frontcourt is a much bigger problem as a below average unit overall.

Gerald is an amazing player if he wants to be. Problem with Hendo is he's got major back issues. I don't see him playing through a playoff battle without at least a couple of DNDs.

i agree - henderson's back issues are probably a big part of why he wasn't moved at the deadline. sooner or later he's got to adjust his playing time expectations or have surgery (if applicable), because back problems like that don't just go away on their own.

How I'd "fix" the Bobcats

Post#12 » by Leolovinliberal » Sun Mar 3, 2013 7:49 pm

1. Fire Dunlap
2. Let Hendo walk
3Let Gordon walk
4.Trade Kemba, MKG and Manos de Piedras to Utah for Favors, Hayward and their 2 first round picks
5. Draft NN with the 1st pick
6. Draft Kelly Olynyk with #13
7. Draft Myck Kabongo with #18
8. Draft Dario Saric with #20
9. Sign JJ Redick

PG: Sessions, Kabongo
SG: Taylor, Redick
SF: Hayward, Saric
PF: Favors, Olynyk
C: Nerlens Noel, Mully

A team with a good young core and some veteran leadership with players that actually play their respective positions. A young, energetic team that will lose a lot but grow together. Orlando and Cleveland are doing it the right way, this plan would follow suit.

Did this really need its own thread??????????

So just get rid of everybody on our team. To build a team that is no better.

I would rather have

Kemba- Sessions
Hendo- BG
MKG- Taylor
Noel- Mully
Biz- Haywood

then the team you listed.

I know, but hypothetically, and as objectively as possible, what do you think of my proposals?

Not everybody; keep Sessions, Taylor and Mully as part of the "core". How is my team not better? Favors and Nerlens Noel are head and shoulders better than any pf/c combo that we have, and Olynyk is the most skilled big man in the draft; Biz "manos de piedras" Niyombo has canned hams at the end of hos wrists where the rest of us have hands. Kemba has huge heart, but will never, ever be a true pg, he's ideally a great 6th man off of the bench. Kabongo is a true pg and would be ideal to back up Ramon. MKG will never, ever be a shooter, Hayward is a GREAT shooter. Here's a challenge: take ME out of the equation and look at my proposal objectively snd tell me why you hate it.

Why do you attack me and not my content? I love the Cats, but this team is severely lacking talent. Do you disagree with that assessment?

We can still draft Olyneck and Noel without trading the rest of our team away. Favors is a decent player, but you guys do realize he was the 3rd pick and still has yet to get major minutes. I do not care who he is playing behind.

MKG will be so much better then Hayward. Kemba is the face of the franchise and he is not going anywhere especially not with former 3rd and 7th picks.
