Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of creators in our price range this summer. The only one that comes to mind who has shown glimpses of being an NBA player is Tyler Ennis.

thats why I asked about Marshall, he's a plus size creator but has continually failed to stick in the NBA
Marshall cant be a worse defender than Marco can he?

That's what I posted previously. I think taking a flier on Marshall and using the MLE on a two way wing could be a great way to go. I acknowledge Marshall isn't a great defender at all, but he'll keep the offense clicking and finding teammates in spots to help them succeed. You could use the MLE on a player like Redick (I think he'll go for way more than the MLE though), James Johnson, Shabazz, Reke (I think he can run more of a 1/2 combo), or PJ Tucker, just to name a few.

Granted I say all this but I'm not focused on the tax threshold. Sitting on my phone I don't feel like flipping across multiple tabs to figure it out.

Your trades are still awful. No reason to trade Zeller.

Point Guard Free Agents

High end free agents (probably would need a sign and trade)
Jrue Holiay (6' 4")
George Hill (6' 3")
Jeff Teague (6' 2")
Shaun Livingston (6' 7")
Darren Collison (6')

Possible gets with the MLE
Ty Lawson (5' 11")
Deron Williams (6' 3")
MCW (6' 6")
Milos Teodosic (6' 5")
Brandon Jennings (6' 1")
Sergio Rodriguez (6' 3")
Shelvin Mack (6' 3")
Raymond Felton (6' 1")
Tyler Ennis (6' 2")
Greivis Vasquez (6' 6")
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Other than Lawson or Deron, I would be disappointed with any of the signings in that 2nd tier. Livingston and Collison are probably MLE signings, the others in that first tier will all get $15M+, and most of the other 2nd tier guys are not MLE caliber players making $8-9M. I'd rather roll with Weber and let Monk have his hand at running the second unit than take on Jennings or MCW.

Sergio had some good stretches in Philly. I wouldn't hate signing him.

And we would receive some attention in the Spanish media, which wouldn't be bad at all :) (I really love Sergio, and I believe that he could be a very good player for 15-20 mpg. He has fantastic vision and is not a bad shooter, although I suppose that his defense is a problem). However, I believe we will end up signing Mack.

About 100% sure we could get in on this CLE - IND trade instead of DEN if we wanted to.

I don't understand Denver.

I really don't want Kevin Love. Not that he isn't a good player but I don't see a combination of assets we can put together that doesn't make us a worse team and fits within the cap and would be acceptable by Indy.

MKG + Marvin is the start of something I would think. But yeah, the question is what to do with the wing after that.

Losing MKG and Williams will hurt more than Love will help IMO. The problem is Cavs have no real value to add that doesn't cost way more than it is worth. We are already shallow on depth and this would make it worse.

I mean honestly if Indy would take Marvin, MKG and Lamb for PG13 I might just take him for a season and see what he can do with what we have. Add Monta to the deal and he can be a swing guard and someone Monk can learn from. Worst case we clear some cap next season and best case he loves playing with compliments like Batum and Kemba and we can off the fifth year.

MKG and Lamb would match up salary wise. But sounds like these 3 teams trade rumors are including young players and picks to Indy

I'd love Jrue but I dunno if he's willing to be a back up PG at this point in his career. He would be a lot closer to Duke Hospital tho where his wife was getting help for her brain issue.

I think Collison would be perfect here. I'd also say Livingston but I can't see him picking us over GS unless they truly can't afford him.

If we were to make the trade for Lin, I'd love to sign CJ Miles or Jeff Green to the MLE as our backup SF...u think they would get more than the MLE at this point in their career?

I'd also love to do a sign and trade of MKG and Sessions for JJ Redick and then sign Collison...allows us to move Batum back to SF...I know I know, pipe dream

I'm starting to lean towards Sergio, veteran point guard with good vision.

MKG is likely as young and good as they are going to get and Lamb isn't old. I would include a protected first just to see what kind of run we could make with PG13 at SF and the squad we would have around him. I know thise two would work I included Williams only to also take back Monta which I thought they would like to clear off the books.

Thinking back it's crazy that we were able to sign Jeremy Lin for the biannual exception. Is there any chance in heck that we could strike gold like that again and find a guy that was in a bad situation needing to recoup their value?
