I just hope we make him an offer to beat the Pacers but also be fair and not outrageous even though we seemingly have to overpay to attract FAs anyway.

Pacers are right up against the luxury tax threshold with their current offer on the table, so I don't see them being the source of a bidding war, unless they start dumping salary. Not sure how much wiggle room Dallas has at this point, but I'm assuming Parsons has them out of the running as well. We can likely offer a couple of mil more a year than Indy for a slightly shorter term with a player option as a feel good move (no trade kicker, please). This is exactly the right type of risk we have to take - 23 year old border line all-star who would be a max player in this market if not for his reputation. Will be a genius move or blow up in our face (or ear).

I heard the news on Mike & Mike, they had breaking news from Chris Broussard, and he gave out the info!! Talk about a fist pump!! Great contract, 3 years, $27M, third year is a TEAM OPTION.

Lance is betting on himself that he will be an all-star and get a bigger payday. THIS IS AWESOME!!! :rockon:

The GREAT news that become even better news with signing Stephenson is that we don't need a PF that has to facilitate like we needed McRoberts beforehand since Henderson can't facilitate. Stephenson will now take on the role of secondary ball handler and based on his track record he is just as willing to shoot the 3-pointer as Gordon Hayward at similar percentages
