I am ready to see this guy out on the court, where we will have something else to talk about.

This will definitely be one of the more interesting Summer leagues that's for sure.

I wouldn't really call it that. Id call it being passionate about a sports team.

Think its funny that Zeller is just being assumed to be a bad defender. He is not Noel, but he is not going to Mullens by any means. Zeller tries extremely hard and he averaged 1.3 blocks and 1 steal a game. He does a good job of playing defense without fouling and will never be beaten down the court by his player. Also, he is a great pick and roll defender and has the agility to stay in front of quicker 4 men.

He will surprise some people with his shot blocking abilities and growing up with brothers who play in the NBA he understands how to play post defense. I think when he is not so worried about getting in foul trouble, because every team tried to draw fouls on him being that he was our best offensive player and only real 5, we will see him be a bit more aggressive than he was in college. Especially since we have Big Al and Biz to play minutes with/behind him.

I think he needs to get a bit stronger, but who doesn't as an NBA rookie. I think he will end up being a plus defender in the league during his prime.

I hope teams forget about MKG, because he will make them look stupid when they do. Dude can ball.

Yeah, I think Zeller is going to be a solid defensive player in the NBA. Between his BBIQ, quickness, and hustle / willingness to play defense he should be alright on most nights. He'll need to add some strength, for sure, but considering Mullens was such a negative on that end of the floor, even an average defender would be a huge step up.

Anyway, first time chiming in on the Zeller pick. I'm starting to come around on it. I really like his ability to run the floor and I'm actually looking forward to our small ball lineup with him at the five and MKG at the four. That lineup along with Kemba would tear it up on the open court. I know it wouldn't be ideal on the defensive end but it should be really fun to watch every once in a while.

If we'd taken Zeller #2 in the 2012 draft then no one would have batted an eyelid.

Perception is a funny thing.

You and I are captains of the Zeller bandwagon. I guess we can leave some room for the doubters.

I wish Las Vegas summer league was today. I want to see him knock down some jumpers.

Whether you preferred him in the draft or not, he brings such a different skill set to anything we've had the last several years. I'm excited for the Cody Zeller era.
