Even disregarding Biyombo's potential, I wouldn't do the trade. Remember that this is a point guard's league and guys like Curry are slowly becoming saturated. You won't get someone at Curry's level, but if you were able to trade for say a Devin Harris while being able to keep Biyombo, I'd rather do that.

And also while this is turning into a point guards league, it is still big men that dictate the sport. Now considering potential, Biyombo could be a game changer, one that would will be highly coveted in the coming years, that it may be Golden State that will be knocking on Charlotte's door offering Curry for Biyombo.

I love Steph myself, but is he really a "star"?

Otherwise, I would want to first wait and see Curry finish out the year without any further issues.

If we end up with #1 and end up drafting Anthony Davis as our 4, it's going to create a logjam. Biyombo can play some 5 but he is not a full time 5. I value him very highly and would be reluctant to trading him but you'd have a hard time passing on a playe rlike Curry

Foolish statement, Biyombo is more of a 5 then Mullens and Hawes combined, Biyombo has the athleticism needed to play the 5 and has a longer wingspan then dwight howard, just because hes not a white center who plays euro style'd ball doesn't mean hes isn't anymore capable of playing center then any of the lower tier centers you covet so much.

What? 4s are generally more athletic than 5s by far. That's just silly.

No, never trade a big for a PG, plus if Kemba for whatever reason doesn't pan out, I'm sure Steph would sign here once hes a UFA

Biz for Rose?

He would be a man among boys this year, probably. He killed the top talent at the hoop summit, including anthony davis.

thanks for the link TTF. that 2nd video (the pick and roll defense) is amazing. this is my favorite aspect of his game so far. i love bigs who can shut down the pick and roll and also recover.

in regards to the last point about points per iso, would it be worth noting that we have rarely (if at all) had to send a double team to biz's man this season. silas is letting him defend his man 1v1 with no help. even vs pekovic who is just a post up monster we never sent a double team to help biz. this at least allowed our defenders to stay at home and not give up the open shots that came out of the double. that being said, i thought there was a point in that game where we should have started to double pekovic just to see how he would react to passing out of the post. its not like he is hakeem in regards to his passing.

From what I saw, the vast majority of Pekovic's points were off of the pick and roll. I only watched about half to three-quarters of the game, but I saw maybe two post up buckets.

Plus, some tape will help on that. Like "This is amar'e, he shoots pretty good and you're just as quick as him anyway, so stay in his face" etc. He's not a dunce, he'll get it.

Doesn't Biz remind you guys more and more of a young Dikembe Mutombo? The similarities seem so evident. The gangly, athletic body, the awkward post moves which end with a successful, but ugly, hook shot, the decent occasional 12 foot jumper, the good footwork on defense and willingness to work hard and contest every shot in the paint. You can apply these things to both of them.

Video of Biz's performance vs the Raps is coming up, by the way.

idk what a young Dikembe would look like, i think he came into the league already in his mid 20s. but id like to imagine Bismack is comparable to Dikembe :)

last night I still thought of Ben Wallace. Not tall enough to challenge everything..but if youre dumb enough to try and challenge him when hes in position youre toast

The thing is Bismack is even bigger and longer then Big Ben, but IMO Bismack will be offensively better then Mutombo, I.E Dwight

Bismack won't be able to score in the teens unless he really works on his hands, and i dunno how much someone can really work on that. Dwight probably gets like 6 ppg at least off of lobs. I don't think Bismack could catch an alleyoop and finish at this point

I forget where I saw it but I read a scouting report that acknowledged that Biyombo has trouble catching the ball back in europe, but he got better over the course of the season. Playing on a superior level like the NBA, he could be having some difficulties adjusting with the pace and how fast the game is, but it will come in time.
